BLUESWOOD ::: THE SCOOP
Blueswood is a collection of high quality hand
crafted furniture made from antique woods harvested from
structures in the Mississippi Delta where the blues was
born. Originally marketed to the music industry, people
were excited to own a piece of an old structure that,
just maybe, John Lee Hooker or Muddy Waters had played
or worked around. It is our desire to preserve the wood
that had been destined to be burned or pushed into a
bayou. We just felt that if an old barn or tenant house
had lived in the middle of a cotton field in the
Mississippi Delta for a hundred years, please don't kill
it now! It has a story to tell and it must live on. Blueswood is built by local craftsmen in Batesville,
Mississippi to last for future generations. Owned and
operated by Casey Lipe, Blueswood has been
in business since 2000.
Blueswood has been featured on Turner South's Southern Living Presents and has been sold in
thirty-five states across America. We feature about
twenty standard designs but we welcome custom work. Our
custom designs have ranged in size from Blueswood
Matchboxes to twenty-eight feet long boardroom tables.
We personalize all our pieces by naming them after
Southern characters. Long Tall Sally, Downtown Lucy
Brown, Blind Willie's Jook Joint, or Little Jimmie
Lampstand are just a few of the characters you will meet
at Blueswood.
Our market areas include Chicago, Denver, Miami,
Atlanta, Philadelphia, Bozeman and Big Sky, Montana,
South Casco and Freeport, Maine and many other cities
across the U.S
